Why won’t my transport promote?

  The most common cause is a missing association in the chain that promotion depends on. Before a transport can be promoted, it has to be assigned to a **User Story**, and that user story has to be linked to a **Release Pipeline**. If any link in that chain — transport → user story → pipeline — is missing, ReleaseOwl shows a warning and promotion will not proceed.
  
  So the quick checklist when a promotion is blocked:
  1. Is the transport associated to a user story?
  2. Is that user story linked to a release pipeline?
  3. Is the transport at the stage you’re promoting *from* (the default Promote-from stage is Dev)?
  Fix the broken link and the promotion will proceed. This is by design — the association is what makes the change traceable and auditable downstream, so ReleaseOwl won’t move a transport that isn’t properly linked.
